Prerequisites for PMI-ACP Certification

To apply for the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational background: A secondary diploma (high school, GED, or global equivalent).

  • General project experience:
    • 2,000 hours (12 months) working on project teams within the last 5 years.
    • A current PMP® or PgMP® counts toward this requirement.

  • Agile project experience:
    • 1,500 hours (8 months) working on agile project teams within the last 3 years.

  • Agile training:
    • 21–28 contact hours in agile practices, frameworks, and methodologies (21 hours accepted until March 2025; after that, full 28 hours required)

Exam Format:

  • Exam Type: Multiple-Choice Questions, Multiple Response, Drag & Drop, Scenario Based.
  • No. of Questions: 120 
  • Duration: 180 Mins
  • Passing Score: Psychometric Analysis (above 70%) 
  • Languages: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish.
